He had books banned and became the voice of barons and contractors against earthquake victims: Ersan Şen's historic video

Lawyer Ersan Şen...

He was presented on television programs as if he were the voice of the opposition.

When he sat in the opposition seat on channels, he was treated as an opposition figure.

So much so that Ersan Şen was even touted as a presidential candidate.

So, what was the reality?

Date: May 31, 2024

In the case regarding the Furkan Apartment building in Gaziantep, where 51 people lost their lives as a result of the February 6 earthquakes, Furkan Apartment lawyer Ersan Şen, who represented the fugitive defendants, faced intense backlash from the families of the earthquake victims at the courthouse.

As the lawyer for fugitive defendants Abdullah Devrim S. and his brother Hasan Hüseyin S., Ersan Şenrequested that the red notice for his clients be lifted and that they be granted a guarantee against arrest.

This request by Ersan Şen drew reactions in the courtroom.

Upon leaving the hearing, Ersan Şen, who was targeted by some individuals attempting to kick him and expressing their anger, was only able to reach his car under police escort.

HE WANTED A BOOK BANNED

Lawyer Ersan Şen, who caused deep pain for earthquake victims, has now taken the stage by seeking to have a book banned.

A request was made to ban the book“Havala”, in which journalist Murat Ağırel wrote about drug barons.

Ağırel shared the information that the person who filed the complaint about the book was Mersin Port, the brother of Alaa Ben Khadra, in whose container 258 kilograms of cocaine were seized during an operation at Ahmed Ben Khadra , and that this individual had previously been tried and acquitted for meat smuggling.

Pointing out that the lawsuit was filed not to edit the book but to have it banned and its sales stopped, Ağırel faced five different charges, including slander and defamation. In the indictment, Ağırel was described as “a so-called investigative journalist acting with the aim of increasing his follower count and staying in the spotlight” expressions were used.

Ağırel stated that the lawyer for Ahmed Ben Khadra, who complained about Havala, was Ersan Şen, but that the case was not filed by Şen himself but by another lawyer, saying, "The person who filed the case is Ahmet Ekin, but the lawyer for the complainant is Ersan Şen. He did not file the case himself, but through a law firm in Mersin."
