Metin A., who was learned to be the ex-boyfriend of a young woman named A.B. working at the cafeteria located within the Kara Surları Millet Bahçesi in Fatih's Mevlanakapı neighborhood, came to the location and attacked A.B. with a utility knife he had with him.

The attacker, who injured the young woman in the chest and face, also injured another cafe employee named A.N.D. in the shoulder as they tried to stop him.
