The People's Liberation Party (HKP) Chairman Ankut was detained while under house arrest and taken to the Vatan Police Headquarters. While Nurullah Efe Ankut was being referred for arrest under Article 299 of the Turkish Penal Code (Insulting the President), 12punto obtained the statement text.
According to a post made on HKP's official X account yesterday evening, lawyer Kerim Bütün stated that the prosecutor's office had interrupted the statement process due to remarks he made while his statement was being taken in custody, adding, "Even our ability to act as lawyers for our Chairman, who is taken into custody once a month, is being obstructed."
Today, after giving his statement at the Büyükçekmece Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, HKP Chairman Nurullah Efe Ankut was referred to the Büyükçekmece Criminal Court of Peace with a request for his arrest under Article 299 of the Turkish Penal Code (Insulting the President).

According to information conveyed to 12punto by HKP Chairman Ankut's lawyer Kerim Bütün, the request for arrest was denied, and Ankut was released with a travel ban and judicial control measures.
