Imam in Narin's village suspended!
In the investigation conducted by the Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the murder of Narin Güran, which shook Turkey, the village imam, R.K., had been detained, and it was alleged that obscene images were found on his phone. That imam has now been suspended.
Among those detained in the Narin Güran murder case was R.K., the imam of the mosque in the Tavşantepe neighborhood of Diyarbakır's central Bağlar district.
Imam R.K. had been released following his statement to the gendarmerie.
INVESTIGATION LAUNCHED
An administrative investigation was launched by the Presidency of Religious Affairs (Diyanet) regarding the allegations appearing in the media and on social media concerning Tavşantepe neighborhood mosque imam R.K.
It was alleged that numerous sexually explicit videos and correspondences, including some involving the imam himself, were found on R.K.'s phone, which had been seized for examination.
It was claimed that when asked during his interrogation, "There are many pornographic videos on your phone; one of the videos is a group sex video that you are also in," the imam of Tavşantepe village, where Narin was murdered, replied, "We met a married couple, they later came to Diyarbakır, and we were together."
SUSPENDED
During a live broadcast on tv100, Devrim Tosunoğlu reported that the Diyanet had suspended Imam R.K. tv100 reporter Canan Altıntaş also confirmed Tosunoğlu's report.
