IMM provides 'healthy nutrition' support to 900 thousand students: Milk, fruit, sandwiches, nuts

The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) has prepared a 'School Nutrition Support Project' for students. Within the scope of the project, nutrition support is provided in front of schools to ensure that primary and middle school students have access to healthy food.

One of the schools where the distribution took place was Veliefendi Primary School in Zeytinburnu. The nutrition support was provided by personnel and distribution vehicles stationed at the school entrance. The nutrition support includes sandwiches prepared with fresh ingredients, milk, fruit, nuts, and water.

'5 THOUSAND NUTRITION PACKAGES EVERY DAY'

Within the scope of the 'School Nutrition Support Project' implemented by the IMM Department of Social Services, 5 thousand nutrition packages will be provided daily to students studying at various schools.

The project, which began in 2023, has delivered 1 million 283 thousand 385 nutrition packages to students so far. The nutrition support, which will be distributed over 180 school days during the 2024-2025 academic year, aims to reach 900 thousand students by the end of the year.
