Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office: 2,452 counter-terrorism operations conducted
The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office announced that 2,452 operations have been carried out across the province since January 1, 2025, as part of investigations into terrorist organizations, with legal proceedings initiated against 4,885 suspects.
Chief Prosecutor's Office issued a written stThe statement noted that, under the instructions of the Terror Crimes Bureau, the Istanbul Police Department carried out these actions.The Counter-Terrorism BranchDirectorate'songoinginvestigationsintoterroristactivitiesmembers of terrorist organizationsand their activities were aimed at beingexposed,it was stated.
Inthestatement, it was noted that within the scope of the operations, 1 long-barreled weapon, 13 hunting/pump-actionshotguns, 39 pistols, and 1,377 rounds of ammunitionit was recorded thatthey were seized.Furthermore, it was reported that
during the operations,2,095,106 Turkish Lira, 439,876 US dollars, 248,600 euros, gold valued at 3,433,054 Turkish Lira, and Japanese yen valued at 8 million Turkish Lira were confiscated.
