The incident occurred yesterday at around 14:30 on Nuryol Street in the Cumhuriyet neighborhood of the central Selçuklu district. According to the information obtained, M.Y.B. (24) arrived in front of the house where his sister lived in a car with the license plate 42 AGT 647. There, a verbal argument broke out between the two after M.Y.B. told his 26-year-old brother-in-law, Oktay Can Anlı, not to constantly argue with his sister. During the argument, M.Y.B. shot and seriously wounded his brother-in-law with a handgun he had brought with him. Anlı was taken to the Selçuk University Faculty of Medicine Hospital by ambulance after the initial intervention by medical teams dispatched to the scene upon notification, but he could not be saved despite all interventions.

The suspect who shot his brother-in-law was taken into custody by police teams. It was learned that in his initial statement, the suspect said that they started talking to Oktay Can Anlı for the purpose of warning him because he was constantly arguing with his sister, and that the argument escalated during this time, leading to the incident.

The suspect will be referred to the courthouse after his procedures at the police station.
