Killer who murdered Sedef Güler and threw her into the sea has been caught

In Edirne, 1 suspect has been apprehended in connection with the discovery of a woman's body in the sea in Büyükçekmece, wrapped in a carpet with weights tied to her feet.

Teams from the Edirne Gendarmerie Command Intelligence Branch captured Yavuz G., who was considered to be linked to the murder, in the village of Elçili, located in the central district.

It was determined that Yavuz G. was wanted for 4 crimes, including drug trafficking and intentional homicide.

It was learned that the suspect confessed during his interrogation, stating that "after they used alcohol and drugs, he noticed in the morning that Sedef Güler was not breathing, so he wrapped Güler in a carpet and threw her into the sea."

Having completed his interrogation at the gendarmerie, Yavuz G. was referred to the courthouse.

The body of 24-year-old Sedef Güler was found in the sea on June 7 at the fishermen's shelter in Mimarsinan Merkez Neighborhood, wrapped in a carpet with weights tied to her feet.

Among the suspects detained four days ago in connection with the incident, Fırat B. and Onur Ö. were referred to the Büyükçekmece Courthouse following their procedures at the police station. Fırat B. was arrested by the duty magistrate judge, while Onur Ö. was released under judicial control provisions.

Yavuz G. and the murdered Sedef Güler were recorded by security cameras entering a house together.
