Large quantity of smuggled goods seized: Auto parts, gold, narcotics

The Ministry of Trade's Customs Enforcement teams seized approximately 90 million TL worth of smuggled auto parts in 2 separate operations carried out in Kocaeli.

The Ministry of Trade also announced in a post on its social media account that the value of smuggled gold seized in the first quarter of the year reached 700 million TL.

In operations carried out by the Ministry of Trade's Customs Enforcement teams in Istanbul, Kırklareli, Edirne, and Van, 109 kilograms of narcotics with a market value of approximately 114 million TL were seized.

Approximately 90 million TL worth of smuggled auto parts were seized in 2 separate operations in Kocaeli, while approximately 10 million 500 thousand TL worth of various smuggled goods were seized in an operation at the Kapıkule Customs Gate.

While thousands of smuggled cigarettes hidden inside timber were caught at Pendik Port, it was announced that the value of smuggled gold seized in the first quarter of the year reached 700 million TL.
