Mandatory winter tire application began today: How much is the fine?

Within the scope of the regulations by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, there is a mandatory requirement to use winter tires for all commercial vehicles between December 1 and April 1. While there is no legal requirement for private passenger cars, the use of winter tires is recommended.

Businesses that do not have winter tires installed on their vehicles despite the requirement will be subject to a fine of 2 thousand 568 Turkish Lira for the year 2023. The fine for not installing winter tires will be updated as of January 1, 2023, within the framework of the revaluation rate to be announced by the Ministry of Treasury and Finance.
