According to the latest assessments by the General Directorate of Meteorology; it is estimated that the Marmara, Aegean, Mediterranean, southern and western parts of Central Anatolia, Western Black Sea, Southeastern Anatolia, and the southern parts of Eastern Anatolia will experience rain and downpours, while other areas will be partly cloudy. Precipitation is expected to be strong in Marmara, the Aegean, the Western Mediterranean, the coasts of the Eastern Mediterranean, the south of Southeastern Anatolia, and the surroundings of Bolu, Düzce, and Eskişehir, and very strong in Istanbul, Kocaeli, Yalova, Bursa, the eastern parts of Antalya, and the eastern parts of Tekirdağ and Kırklareli.

STATEMENT FROM THE ISTANBUL GOVERNOR'S OFFICE

The Istanbul Governor's Office issued a warning regarding the heavy rainfall that will continue until Sunday noon. In the warning issued with an orange code, it was stated, "According to information received from Meteorology; very strong downpours are expected to be effective in Istanbul from Saturday morning until Sunday noon. Precautions must be taken against flooding."

STORM AND RAIN WARNING FOR THE WEEKEND FROM AKOM

The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Disaster Coordination Center (AKOM) announced that cold and rainy weather is arriving in Istanbul for the weekend. In the statement, it was noted, "IMM teams will be kept on standby 24/7 against potential flooding and ponding due to heavy rain and storms."

WARNING FOR 55 PROVINCES FROM AFAD

In the warning issued by AFAD, it was stated, "According to the latest information received from Meteorology and the assessments made; meteorological warnings have been issued for a total of 55 provinces, with Orange warnings for 29 provinces and Yellow warnings for 26 provinces. On Saturday, November 18; Adana, Afyonkarahisar, Antalya, Bingöl, Bursa, Burdur, Denizli, Elazığ, Erzincan, Erzurum, Giresun, Gümüşhane, Isparta, Istanbul, Mersin, Kayseri, Kırklareli, Kocaeli, Konya, Kahramanmaraş, Niğde, Rize, Sivas, Tunceli, Trabzon, Bayburt, Karaman, Tekirdağ, and Yalova. Ankara, Amasya, Artvin, Aydın, Balıkesir, Bilecik, Çanakkale, Çankırı, Eskişehir, Edirne, İzmir, Kırşehir, Kütahya, Manisa, Muğla, Nevşehir, Ordu, Sakarya, Samsun, Tokat, Malatya, Uşak, Yozgat, Aksaray, Kırıkkale, and Osmaniye. The governor's offices, district governor's offices, and provincial AFAD directorates in the provinces under warning have been informed. Our teams are on alert in the provinces where yellow and orange meteorological warnings have been issued. We strongly remind our citizens to be careful against negative conditions such as flash floods, flooding, lightning, landslides, local hail, roof detachment, tree/pole toppling, stove/chimney poisoning, and disruptions in transportation."
