Murat Kurum responds sharply to claims of 'taking commissions from foreign mining companies': 'If you have a shred of honor...'

The 2025 budget negotiations for the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change were held at the TBMM Planning and Budget Committee.

KURUM'S SUPPORT FOR TRUSTEES

Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Murat Kurum answered questions from MPs during the sessions.

Speaking about the trustees appointed to the CHP-run Esenyurt Municipality and the DEM Party-run Mardin, Batman, and Halfeti municipalities, Kurum stated, "To say that 'the will of the people was usurped by the appointed trustees' is, in the clearest terms, a mental lapse. Those who usurp the will of the voters are those who act like members of a terrorist organization instead of serving those who voted for them. Turkey is a state of law. If you engage in dirty games against the indivisible integrity of this country, this state will come and hold you accountable for it."

Kurum gave the following response to the allegation made by EMEP Gaziantep MP Sevda Karaca that he received commissions from foreign mining companies:

"EMEP MP Sevda Karaca's ugly slander is proof of her intolerance, hostile attitude, and disrespect. You will know your place. You cannot stand at attention in Kandil and then make such slanders under the roof of the Parliament. You will prove your claim. If you have a shred of honor or dignity, you will prove it. If you cannot prove it, I have nothing more to say to those who are devoid of honor and dignity."
