The investigation continues into the attacks carried out with a pump-action shotgun in the villages of Yukarıtandır, Ayazini, and Kıyır in the İhsaniye district of Afyonkarahisar, which resulted in the deaths of 8 people. Ali İhsan Adatepe, a fellow villager of the suspect Arif Sefa Ö., recounted what he had heard regarding how the chain of attacks began.
According to Adatepe, the background of the incident involves a debt dispute with individuals who work in combine harvesting. Adatepe alleged that the suspect had been beaten previously and that a meeting was subsequently arranged between the parties.
DEBT DISPUTE ALLEGATION FROM A FELLOW VILLAGER
Ali İhsan Adatepe described his claim regarding the initial stage of the incident with the words, "As far as I heard, there was a debt issue. There were combine harvesters, and there was a debt issue with them." Adatepe also stated that he heard the combine harvesters were from Kırşehir.
The combine harvesters had beaten the boy before. After beating him, they spoke on the phone again; he said, 'come, I will pay, let's settle this.' They met near the big village on that side. When they arrived, he had set an ambush and shot them, as far as we know.
Adatepe alleged that after the first attack, the suspect wanted to change vehicles along his escape route and opened fire on people he encountered during this time. According to the allegation, while the suspect was heading toward Kıyır, he encountered two people on the road; he wanted to take their vehicle, but because the vehicle was not given to him, he opened fire on these individuals as well.
According to Adatepe's account, the suspect then traveled through the directions of Bayat and Çıkrık, passing toward the Gazlıgöl side via the Fethibey road. It is alleged that he wanted to take the vehicle of female teachers he encountered during this time and opened fire on the person or persons who did not get out of the vehicle.
Regarding the suspect's attempts to change vehicles, Adatepe used the expressions, "He wants to change the car, and when they don't give him the car, he shoots them too." In the same account, it was alleged that the teachers encountered on the Gazlıgöl side were also told, "get out, I'm going to change the car."
