New regulations for the transport sector from the Ministry of Transport
The Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure has announced a new regulation introducing significant changes in the transport sector. Innovations have been made in many areas, from courier services to the employment of female drivers.
Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu stated that it has now become mandatory for motorcycle couriers to obtain a 'P1 authorization certificate.' These certificates can be obtained via e-Devlet with discounts of up to 5 percent. Couriers who apply within the first six months will be able to benefit from a 95 percent discount.
A requirement to obtain a 'Courier Activity Certificate' has also been introduced for couriers, and a one-year transition period has been granted for professional competence certificates. While it has become mandatory for undelivered shipments to be returned within the same period, shipments may be inspected upon the recipient's request during delivery.
INCENTIVES FOR FEMALE EMPLOYMENT
To encourage the employment of female drivers, a 95 percent discount will be provided on vehicle card fees. Companies that have employed female drivers for 10 percent of their vehicles in the last year will have their authorization certificates extended for three months free of charge.
Student and shuttle transport have also been reorganized. Those operating with a maximum of three shuttle vehicles will be issued an authorization certificate with a 95 percent discount. For ticketed passenger transport, vehicles with 18-24 seats may be used.
The use of tachographs has been made mandatory for bus, truck, and tractor-trailer drivers. A fine of 44,325 Turkish Lira will be imposed on those who do not comply with the rules. Some provisions of the regulation will come into effect today, while others will take effect in two months.
