Number of daycare centers in public institutions to increase
Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz announced that the Presidency has issued a directive to increase the number of daycare centers and childcare facilities in public institutions.
Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz stated in a social media post that the Presidency has sent a directive to all public institutions and organizations to expand the availability and increase the capacity of daycare centers and nursery schools.
In his statement, Yılmaz included the following remarks: "We are taking another significant step to increase fertility rates, strengthen the family structure, and raise healthy generations.
With the official letter sent by the Presidency, it has been requested that daycare centers and nursery schools be expanded and their capacities increased in public institutions. This step is one of the structural reforms we have been working on for a long time within our Population Policy Board.
It is of great importance to expand safe and high-quality care environments for our children, especially in public institutions that operate 24/7. With the declaration of 2025 as the 'Year of the Family,' we are taking decisive steps to expand childcare services, support women's employment after childbirth, and remove obstacles for young couples to have children.
It is extremely important for our public institutions to implement this regulation quickly to support working families, ensure social justice, and increase the effectiveness of our population policies. I wish for this important step to be beneficial for our country and our families."
FAMILY MINISTER GÖKTAŞ: 'TO SUPPORT WORKING FAMILIES...'
Minister of Family and Social Services Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş also stated in her remarks on the subject that another important step supporting families has been taken within the scope of the Year of the Family. Göktaş said, "In order to strengthen the family and support working parents, the Presidency has communicated to all public institutions that the opening of daycare centers and childcare facilities in public institutions will be exempted from the austerity circular and that their capacity should be increased. It is of great importance to expand qualified care opportunities for our children, especially in public institutions that operate 24/7. In this context, we have implemented the regulation that we have been working on meticulously within our Population Policy Board. I wish for this valuable step, taken on the occasion of the Year of the Family declared in line with the vision of our President, to be beneficial for our country and our families."
