Özgür Özel gives a date for the cabinet reshuffle: That minister said, 'I will retire'!

The Republican People's Party (CHP) continues its 'Defending the National Will' rallies, which were launched for the release of its imprisoned presidential candidate and Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu and for early elections. The latest stop for the CHP was Trabzon, the hometown of İmamoğlu.

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel made striking statements at the Trabzon rally. Giving a date for a cabinet reshuffle, Özel noted the following:

“The cabinet will change on Monday, supposedly Mehmet Şimşek will leave. He is saying, 'I will retire.' We will not let you go while the curse of so many retirees is upon you. One cannot retire from being a coup plotter. We will hold you accountable.”

HE ANNOUNCED THE FIRST POLL OF JULY

In one part of his speech, Özel shared the results of the latest general election poll on his desk.

Stating that the CHP has increased its votes, Özel emphasized that the AKP has fallen below 29 percent.

Özel said the following:

“The surprise of the night is that after the Republican People's Party was ahead in all polls last month and the AK Party fell below 30 percent for the first time, those who pressure polling companies and say, 'Show us in the lead,' were waiting for the July polls.

Today, in the infallible July poll, which is conducted twice a year with 15 thousand subjects, the Republican People's Party has advanced 0.5 points from last month's measurements, the AK Party has fallen to 28.4 percent, those who believe in Mayor Ekrem have increased by three points as they do every month, and those who believe in the slander have decreased by two points.

We have emerged from this struggle and this resistance with our heads held high this month as well. We will win, the Republic will win, the poor, the workers, the unemployed, the tradesmen, and the farmers will win. Trabzon will win, İmamoğlu will win, Turkey will win.

Our candidate is now clear; we elected him with 15.5 million votes. He cannot leave Silivri. He cannot travel. He cannot walk around. Are we ready to wake up every morning as a Presidential Candidate in his place? Are we ready to go door to door, street to street, house to house like Yeliz instead of Mayor Ekrem, to work and win this election? Are we ready?”
