According to a report by Ferit Demir from Medyascope, Demirtaş's lawyers went to Edirne Prison, where Demirtaş is being held, to inform him of the news of the death.

According to the information obtained, Demirtaş will not attend the funeral. It was conveyed that Demirtaş told his lawyers, "Do not apply to the Ministry of Justice to attend the funeral."
HE HAD A HEART ATTACK BEFORE THE ELECTIONS
Tahir Demirtaş had suffered a heart attack before the May 14 elections. His son, Selahattin Demirtaş, who is imprisoned in Edirne Prison, was brought to Diyarbakır by the Ministry of Justice on a private jet following the surgery.
