Son of religious community leader appointed as executive at Emlak Konut

It has emerged that Ahmet Nazım Adil, the son of the leader of the Naqshbandi-affiliated Kıbrısi community, has been appointed as an executive at Emlak Konut.

According to a report by İsmail Arı from Birgün, Ahmet Nazım Adil, who was a technical expert assistant at Emlak Konut Gayrimenkul Yatırım Ortaklığı A.Ş., was recently appointed as the Implementation Manager. Ahmet Nazım Adil, the son of Muhammed Mehmet Adil, the leader of the Naqshbandi-affiliated Kıbrısi community, did not respond to questions regarding his appointment.

Ahmet Nazım Adil, who was made an executive at Emlak Konut, is the grandson of Mehmet Nazım Adil, known as "Nazım Kıbrısi," the founder of the Haqqani branch of the Naqshbandi order.

The community's founder, Mehmet Nazım Adil, recited the call to prayer (adhan) in Arabic on his first day back in Cyprus during a period when it was prohibited, for which he served one week in prison. Upon his release, he climbed to the balcony of the Selimiye Mosque, the largest in Nicosia, and recited the Arabic adhan again, leading to a lawsuit being filed against him.

While awaiting trial, he traveled through the villages of Nicosia and continued to recite the adhan in Arabic. A total of 114 lawsuits were filed against him during the same period, and he faced potential prison sentences exceeding 100 years. On the other hand, it was also alleged that during the Turkish-Greek conflicts in Cyprus in the 1960s, Nazım Kıbrısi suggested to Turks that they should "sell your property and leave the island."

Following the death of Nazım Kıbrısi in 2014, his son Muhammed Mehmet Adil took over the leadership of the community. He moved the community's headquarters from Cyprus to Beykoz, Istanbul. His son, Ahmet Nazım Adil, who was appointed as an executive at Emlak Konut, is also among the heirs apparent of the community.
