Statement from the Presidency of Religious Affairs regarding 'meat dishes every day' report

In a written statement issued by the Presidency of Religious Affairs, it was stated, "The lunch fees charged to our personnel at our Presidency's cafeteria are determined by the Food Service Board of Directors.

Currently, the cost of lunch is around 100 TL, and this figure varies according to market conditions.

For civil servants eating at our Presidency's cafeteria, the service is provided through a combination of state contribution and civil servant contribution. For permanent workers employed under the 4/D status, meal fees are paid in cash to the worker personnel as a daily net amount of 143.69 TL.

In this regard, permanent workers pay 100 TL of the 143.69 TL daily net meal allowance they receive when they utilize the meal service," the statement said.

Diyanet's statement regarding the report continued as follows:

"As can be seen, a figure lower than the fee provided by the state as a meal allowance is collected from the worker personnel. In this respect, the claim that workers are charged a higher price for meals than high-level executives is untrue.

Indeed, when the legislation regarding practices in other public institutions and organizations is examined, it is clearly seen how incorrect and far from the truth the report is.

Furthermore, as opposed to what was claimed in the report, there is no such thing as a separate menu prepared for high-level executives, and a single menu is provided for all personnel at the Presidency's Headquarters."

WHAT PHRASES WERE USED IN THE REPORT

The following statements were included in the report by Deniz Ayhan from Sözcü:

On Diyanet's menu for May 17, which is today, there will be "corn soup, farm-style meatballs, bulgur pilaf, and fruit." It was learned that the President of Religious Affairs Ali Erbaş, along with the Vice Presidents of Religious Affairs, the President of the High Board of Religious Affairs, the President of the Diyanet Academy, General Managers, the Head of Guidance and Inspection, and the Head of Strategy Development pay 67.5 TL for this menu.

However, 4/D workers, radio and TV personnel, KOMAŞ personnel, and Presidency staff working at Diyanet pay 100 TL.

For guests, the meal is 110 TL. Cooks, security guards, service staff, drivers, directors, and 4/B contract personnel pay 30 TL for this meal, while presidential advisors, chief inspectors, legal advisors, and lawyers pay 42 TL.
