While the absence of MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli from the reception sparked various claims, the CHP, IYI Party, and DEM Party were also not present at the reception. It was alleged that the DEM Party was not invited.

Following the reception, Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek and DEVA Party Chairman Ali Babacan came together.

Babacan, who has recently been in the spotlight due to claims that he might join the AKP, had a brief conversation with Şimşek. According to the report in Ekonomim, it was suggested that the pair discussed inflation targets and labor costs.
