Striking testimony in the Gülistan Doku case: The gendarmerie officer who said 'This girl is not in the water' has been martyred

New details have come to light in the Gülistan Doku investigation. In the case file of Gülistan Doku, who has been missing in Tunceli for 6 years and is suspected to have been murdered, the testimony given to the gendarmerie by Süleyman Önal, one of the personnel responsible for the camera systems at Munzur University, has emerged.

TESTIMONY REGARDING CAMERA SYSTEMS EMERGES

It was stated that Süleyman Önal, one of the individuals taken into custody as part of the investigation, denied claims in his testimony that authority over the camera systems rested solely with the other official, Savaş Gültürk.

In his testimony, Önal said, 'He was assigned to work alongside me to assist with the rectorate's camera systems. We performed the same duties as Savaş. Whatever authority and duties I had, he had the same.'

“I HAVE NO INFORMATION REGARDING HER FATE”

During his testimony, Süleyman Önal was also asked about information regarding the disappearance of Gülistan Doku.

Önal stated, 'I have no information regarding the fate of Gülistan Doku. I know what everyone knows from the media and what was discussed at the university, which is that she jumped off the viaduct into the water with the intention of committing suicide. I have no other information.'

THE “THIS GIRL IS NOT IN THE WATER” CLAIM

The most striking part of Önal's testimony was what he recounted regarding a member of the Gendarmerie Underwater Search and Rescue (SAK) team who participated in the search efforts for Gülistan Doku.

Önal explained that the gendarmerie officer, who was later stated to have been martyred, came to the monitoring room and spoke with Savaş Gültürk there.

In his testimony, Önal stated that he heard the officer say, 'I have been an officer for so many years; based on my experience, this girl is not in this water. If she were, we would have found her by now,' and noted that the officer in question later went with his team members to the location where the camera overlooking the Sarı Saltuk Viaduct from a distance is situated.

It was stated that no information could be reached regarding the name of the gendarmerie officer mentioned in Önal's testimony, nor when or under what circumstances he lost his life.

NEW PHOTOGRAPH OF GÜLİSTAN DOKU EMERGES

Meanwhile, a previously unpublished photograph of Gülistan Doku has also emerged.

In the photograph, Gülistan Doku is seen attending a wedding with her mother, Bedriye Doku, her sister, Aynur Doku, and her cousins. It was noted that Gülistan Doku, who is smiling in the frame, disappeared just a few weeks after this image was taken.
