Strong northeasterly wind disrupts maritime transport in Tekirdağ
A strong northeasterly wind (poyraz) affecting Tekirdağ is disrupting maritime transport. While fishermen have been unable to set sail due to poor weather conditions, 8 cargo ships and tankers have been forced to anchor off the coast of Tekirdağ. The northeasterly wind is expected to continue for 3 days.
Due to the northeasterly wind, which occasionally reaches speeds of 30 kilometers per hour, 8 domestic and foreign-flagged cargo ships and tankers have anchored off the coast of Tekirdağ.

Fishermen have been unable to set sail due to the strong wind.
İbrahim Pehlivanoğlu, President of the Tekirdağ Süleymanpaşa Fisheries Cooperative, told reporters that the northeasterly wind is negatively affecting fishing activities.

Stating that fishermen are forced to perform net maintenance at the port, Pehlivanoğlu said, "With the strong northeasterly wind that has started in the Sea of Marmara, our fellow fishermen will spend their time repairing their nets. Hopefully, after the weather improves, our fishermen will continue their hunting activities."

In the city, where the air temperature is measured at 13 degrees, the northeasterly wind is expected to be effective for 3 days.
