Support for MHP Leader Bahçeli from Hatayspor: It is a matter of conscience
While MHP Leader Devlet Bahçeli's call not to certify the leagues continues to remain significant, Hatayspor has also voiced its support for this stance.
Hatayspor, one of the teams relegated this season, stated in a post on its official social media account that it supports the remarks made by MHP Leader Devlet Bahçeli, noting that our football has been harmed by allegations of match-fixing and corruption that have cast a shadow over the league.
Here is that statement from Hatayspor:
"To the Public,
The allegations of illegal betting, match-fixing, and corruption that have overshadowed all our professional leagues this season have seriously damaged the foundation of justice and the principles of fair competition in our football.
In an environment where such dirty allegations and off-field factors are being discussed, we, as Hatayspor Club, fully support the historic call made by Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) Leader Mr. Devlet Bahçeli to protect the honor and justice of Turkish sports. Mr. Bahçeli's prudent and fair proposal to abolish relegation in all leagues is the only way forward for the future of our football.
Since the February 6 earthquake disaster, our club has been struggling to exist under extraordinary and difficult conditions, and it has also been a victim of this climate of suspicion that has permeated all leagues. Implementing the relegation system in a season where integrity has been compromised will mean punishing innocent clubs that have worked hard at every level of Turkish football.
As Mr. Devlet Bahçeli also emphasized; in order to establish clean football, it is a legal and conscientious necessity for this season, which is clouded by suspicion, to be registered without relegation in all league levels.
We invite the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) and all relevant authorities to heed this justified call; we express our gratitude to Mr. Devlet Bahçeli for standing up for the justice of Turkish football and the rights of the clubs.
