Temperatures to rise 6-10 degrees above seasonal norms

Cengiz Çelik, a weather forecasting expert at the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, provided an assessment regarding the weather conditions across the country.

"WILL HOVER 6 TO 10 DEGREES ABOVE"

Stating that high temperatures will continue until the weekend, Çelik said, "This week, temperatures across the country will hover 6 to 10 degrees above seasonal norms. Temperatures will drop by 4-5 degrees over the weekend, but will still remain above seasonal norms," he said.

Reporting that the highest temperatures will be seen in the Eastern Mediterranean and Southeastern Anatolia regions, Çelik stated that they expect temperatures to reach 32 degrees in Adana and 30-31 degrees in Southeastern Anatolia. Çelik noted that temperatures in these areas could rise even further on a district-by-district basis.

Stating that intermittent precipitation is expected in the western regions due to warming, but that this will not last all day, Çelik indicated that there will be short-term showers in the Coastal Aegean and North Aegean regions.

Çelik reported that precipitation will be seen throughout the northwestern regions over the weekend, with rain expected in Marmara, the Aegean, the north of Central Anatolia, and the Western Black Sea.

WEATHER IN THE 3 MAJOR CITIES

Cengiz Çelik stated that no precipitation is expected in Ankara until Saturday, that temperatures will be around 26-28 degrees during the week, and will drop to 22 degrees over the weekend.

Expressing that short-term, thundery showers are expected in Istanbul on Thursday and Friday, Çelik said, "Temperatures will be 6-7 degrees above seasonal norms. Over the weekend, they will drop to 19-20 degrees."

Çelik said that short-term showers are expected in İzmir for the next 3 days, and that temperatures will drop by 4-5 degrees towards the weekend but will still hover above seasonal norms.
