Within the scope of the new process initiated by the call of Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) Chairman Devlet Bahçeli, the DEM Party Imralı Delegation met with terrorist leader Abdullah Öcalan for the third time yesterday (February 27).

The 7-member delegation shared the 'disarmament call' of terrorist organization PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan with the public following the meeting in Imralı.

The call was first read in Kurdish by Ahmet Türk, and then Pervin Buldan read the Turkish text of the call.

Drawing attention to the fact that terrorist leader Öcalan's disarmament call was not broadcast on TRT Kurdi, Halk TV columnist Mehmet Tezkan wrote, “You have been boasting for years that you established a Kurdish channel, but you do not broadcast Öcalan's statement that ‘I have dissolved the PKK, all groups must lay down their arms.’ It is incomprehensible.”

Tezkan asked the following:

“The local people have long severed their ties with the PKK for emotional reasons, family ties, and the pursuit of rights… If they had not severed their ties with the PKK, Öcalan's statement that ‘I have dissolved the PKK, the historical responsibility is mine’ would not have been met with enthusiasm… But the state's Kurdish channel did not announce this statement to the Kurdish people in their mother tongue. Why?”
