Two doctors who were referred to the courthouse over allegations of engaging in inappropriate messaging with patients in Konya have been released under judicial control by the duty magistrate. While the investigation into the incident continues, Selçuk University has also launched an inquiry regarding the messages in question.
In a statement issued by the Konya Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was noted that the doctors in question are being investigated for the crimes of "violating the privacy of private life" and "unlawfully sharing personal data." The statement included the remark, "The investigation into the incident is being conducted meticulously in all its aspects."
THEY WERE RELEASED
According to the allegations, doctors S.Ö. and O.T. engaged in inappropriate messaging with patients. Following the discovery of these messages, the Konya Chief Public Prosecutor's Office issued a detention order for the doctors. Police teams detained the doctors and, following procedures at the police station, conducted health checks. After undergoing health checks at Konya Numune Hospital, the doctors were referred to the courthouse and subsequently released under judicial control by the duty magistrate.
Furthermore, a statement from Selçuk University reported that an investigation has been launched regarding messages alleged to belong to certain healthcare workers employed at the university's faculty of medicine hospital. The university announced that the personnel involved in the allegations have been suspended from duty.
