They were invited to the Palace for the first time: A sensational jab from Devlet Bahçeli to Ali Babacan and Ahmet Davutoğlu!

MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli spoke about his absence from the October 29 ceremony at Anıtkabir and the reception held at the Palace. Without naming names, Bahçeli reacted to Future Party leader Ahmet Davutoğlu and DEVA Party Chairman Ali Babacan, who did not attend the ceremony at Anıtkabir but went to the Palace. Bahçeli stated, "Is it not a shameful and debased double standard to ignore those who did not go to Anıtkabir but ran to the reception, and who served up photo after photo?"

They were invited to the Palace for the first time: A sensational jab from Devlet Bahçeli to Ali Babacan and Ahmet Davutoğlu!

Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) Chairman Devlet Bahçeli made remarks at his party's group meeting that are set to dominate the agenda.

Bahçeli's absence from the October 29 ceremony at Anıtkabir and the reception held at the Palace had sparked rumors of a crisis within the People's Alliance. Responding harshly to these claims, Bahçeli took a jab at DEVA Party Chairman Ali Babacan and Future Party leader Ahmet Davutoğlu with sharp words in the sidelines of his speech.

Here is Bahçeli's speech:

"Why didn't I go to Anıtkabir on October 29, why did I protest the Republic reception at the Külliye? They say there is a deep disagreement on Cyprus policy, or that there is some other issue, this and that.

Move on, gentlemen, move on; all those making these claims have failed and have been caught off guard again. If it's not too much trouble, go tell your fake and chaotic views to the Cibali Police Station. If Sülün Osman, who was caught red-handed while trying to sell the Galata Bridge, were alive today, he would have said 'enough is enough,' packed his bags, and left the country.

Could the reason for our not going to Anıtkabir on October 29 not have stemmed from a human situation? Is it out of the question that we were faced with a special situation that day? Could we not have seen and thought of this as a litmus test, a trial, a process of learning, and a way to decipher who is conspiring with whom, what they will say, and the speculations inside their heads?

Even if we couldn't go to Anıtkabir, wouldn't we have been portrayed as protesting Anıtkabir if we had attended the reception? How would attending the reception without going to the ceremony at Anıtkabir be evaluated as a correct, balanced, and appropriate behavior?

Well, is it not a shameful and debased double standard to ignore those who did not go to Anıtkabir but ran to the reception, and who served up photo after photo? I have said little; let the group that invests in slander and discord understand much, if they can understand, if they have the strength."
