Thunderstorm warning
The Ministry of Interior has issued a "yellow" coded meteorological warning via its social media account for thunderstorms expected in 16 provinces tomorrow.
The Ministry shared a map of Turkey on its social media account, highlighting the provinces marked with a "yellow" code in line with the latest information received from the General Directorate of Meteorology.
Accordingly, strong storms from the south are expected tomorrow in Muğla, the western parts of Aydın, and the southern and western parts of İzmir, while local strong and very strong downpours and thunderstorms are expected in the center and eastern parts of Antalya.
Intermittent and local strong downpours and thunderstorms are forecast for Mersin, Adana, Hatay, Osmaniye, and Kahramanmaraş.
The strong downpour in Ankara is expected to be effective across the province over time in the form of short-term and local thunderstorms.
Local strong downpours are expected in the vicinity of Gaziantep, Kilis, Adıyaman, and Şanlıurfa, while intermittent and local strong downpours and thunderstorms are expected in the western parts of Balıkesir and in Çanakkale.
On the other hand, strong winds and storms from the south are forecast for the southern and eastern parts of Central Anatolia, the inner Aegean, and the inland parts of the Central and Eastern Black Sea regions.
Citizens have been urged to be careful and take precautions against negative consequences such as floods, inundations, landslides, lightning strikes, disruptions in transportation, strong winds during precipitation, roof dislodgement, tree falls, and poisoning caused by stoves and natural gas, and to heed the warnings of the competent authorities.
