Trade Minister makes statement on Schengen visas: 'We are pressuring the countries'
Trade Minister Ömer Bolat spoke about the Schengen visa issue and the disruptions being experienced, announcing that action has been taken for a "fast track visa" application.
Making statements regarding the problems Turkish citizens face with Schengen visas, Trade Minister Ömer Bolat stated that they have initiated efforts to resolve the disruptions in commercial and tourism activities caused by the refusal to grant visas to Turkish citizens.
"FAST TRACK VISA" APPLICATION
Minister Bolat noted that the highest visa rejection rates come from Germany, stating, "We are pressuring the member countries regarding visas."
Stating that they are taking steps to prevent disruptions in commercial and tourism activities, Bolat said, "We have also requested the creation of new mechanisms for a fast track visa application."
WHAT IS A FAST TRACK VISA?
The fast track application, which provides the opportunity for quick passage through passport and security control, creates a priority right of passage through the fast track gate.
