University is fake, rector turns out to be a high school graduate: They are issuing fake diplomas

It is alleged that Yeni Pazar University, which reportedly operates in Albania, Serbia, and Montenegro, is imaginary/fake. It is claimed that the university's rector is a high school graduate and that the diplomas issued are fraudulent.

It was stated that Lawyer Dilara Damla Öksüz has filed a criminal complaint with the Anadolu Courthouse in Istanbul on behalf of the university's victims.

The petition included the following statements: "The fraud network is operated through fake university websites they have set up on the internet. Ali İlseven and Damla İlseven create websites that mimic state institutions and universities, and issue fake diplomas to people who register. They create the perception that these diplomas have YÖK (Council of Higher Education) equivalence in Turkey and are valid in 168 countries. They are operating unlawfully by setting up university-like websites that have no academics, no campus, no board of trustees, and no legal standing."

ALLEGATION THAT RECTOR ALİ İLSEVEN IS A HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATE

Prof. Dr. Ali İlseven is listed as the rector of the university, which reportedly operates in Albania, Serbia, and Montenegro. However, it is even alleged that İlseven, who has no academic record, is only a high school graduate. It has been learned that YÖK will be following up on these allegations.

NO ACCESS TO THE WEBSITE

The university, which broadcasts from the address "https://yenipazar.edu.tr" with an ".edu.tr" extension like universities in Turkey, has no mailing address or postal code. The contact section only contains an email address and a phone number belonging to Kosovo. That number never connects.

Meanwhile, the university's website has been inaccessible for some time. Those who visit the site are met with the message, "The website is undergoing scheduled maintenance."

IMAGINARY UNIVERSITY

It is alleged that students who registered for the imaginary university paid between 2,000 and 4,000 euros, and that the ".edu.tr" extension was used on the university's website to convince students. Regarding the matter, Lawyer Öksüz said, "You cannot use this extension if you are not a university. The correspondence the prosecutor's office will conduct with YÖK and the relevant domain company will reveal how this scandal took place."
