Verdict announced in compensation lawsuit between Süleyman Soylu and Özgür Özel
The verdict has been announced in the lawsuit filed by former Interior Minister and AKP Istanbul MP Süleyman Soylu against CHP leader Özgür Özel.
Soylu had filed a non-pecuniary compensation lawsuit against CHP leader Özgür Özel, claiming that the expressions used in his social media posts on October 22 and December 3 and 8, 2021, violated his personal rights.
Soylu's lawyers attended the hearing at the Ankara 40th Civil Court of First Instance.
In his statement, Soylu's lawyer stated that he reiterated his previous statements and requested that the lawsuit be accepted.
Following the statements, the court announced its verdict, deciding to partially accept the lawsuit and ordering Özel to pay 20 thousand liras in non-pecuniary compensation to Soylu.
