Car crashes into shopping mall, hits mother and child at the top of the escalator
Two people were injured after a vehicle lost control in the parking lot of a shopping mall in Şişli, crashed through the entrance door, and became suspended on the escalators.
A driver identified as İ.G. lost control of the steering wheel while maneuvering their vehicle in the parking lot of a shopping mall in the Esentepe neighborhood.
The car broke through the shopping mall's entrance door, entered the building, and became suspended on the escalators.
In the accident, S.Ö. (46) and her 8-year-old son K.Ö., who were at the escalator, were injured.
LIFE-THREATENING CONDITION
Upon notification, police, fire, and medical teams were dispatched to the shopping mall.
It was learned that K.Ö., one of the injured who was taken to the hospital after the initial intervention by medical personnel, is in life-threatening condition.
The driver, İ.G., was taken into custody.
The moment of the accident was recorded by security cameras.
