Coast Guard rescues 30 irregular migrants pushed back into Turkish territorial waters by Greece
Off the coast of the Ayvacık district in Çanakkale, 30 irregular migrants found in a rubber boat, having been pushed back into Turkish territorial waters and left to die by Greek Coast Guard teams, were rescued by Coast Guard units.
Coast Guard North Aegean Group Command teams launched an operation following reports of irregular migrants in a rubber boat off the coast of the Ayvacık district. During the operation carried out by the Coast Guard Boat 'TCSG-28', 30 irregular migrants who had been pushed into Turkish territorial waters and put in danger by Greek Coast Guard teams were rescued.
The rescued irregular migrants were handed over to the Repatriation Center in the Ayvacık district of Çanakkale after their processing was completed.
