Jumped from balcony during earthquake, landed on a car: Walked away limping
During a 6.2 magnitude earthquake in Istanbul, a person jumped from a balcony in Zeytinburnu. The moment the 17-year-old landed on a car was captured on security camera.
Istanbul was shaken by successive earthquakes. According to data from the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD), a total of 51 tremors occurred in the megacity, the largest being 6.2.
During the earthquake, a person in the Yenidoğan neighborhood of Zeytinburnu jumped from the balcony of their building. The 17-year-old who jumped from the balcony landed on a parked car.
The moment the teenager jumped from the balcony and landed on the car was captured on security camera. In the footage, it is seen that the teenager, who landed on the car, then got down and walked away limping to the other side.
Ali A., who jumped from the balcony during the earthquake, said, "I was attending an online class at that moment. My leg was already broken. I didn't know who was in the house or not. I jumped out of reflex at that moment. It's a good thing I landed on the car. I don't remember what I did at all. I landed on a neighbor's car. Then I found myself in the hospital."
