Lightning strike explodes like a bomb, leaves a hole in apartment building: The moment caught on camera
Heavy rain and hail that suddenly hit Antalya around noon left city residents stunned. At the same time, a lightning strike that hit an apartment building with a loud bang caused material damage to an upper-floor unit.
The lightning strike, which hit with a loud bang, caused material damage to the building's roof and the apartment belonging to Cihan Çelikörs on the 10th floor. Due to the force of the strike, damage first occurred on the roof, and a large hole was also created in the apartment's living room. It was learned that no one was in the apartment at the time. Stating that no one was home when the lightning struck, apartment owner Cihan Çelikörs said, "Around 1:30 PM, a lightning bolt struck, a hole formed in the apartment's roof, and the building's electrical system collapsed. The ceiling in the house was punctured, the booster pump isn't working, and there is no water. Electronic devices are also not working. I was at the construction site at the time; there was no one at home. The lightning sounded like a huge explosion," he said.
