Snow mass collapse in Artvin: Terrifying moments caught on camera

In an incident that occurred on İnönü Street in Artvin, a heavy mass of snow that had accumulated on the roof of a building suddenly fell onto the sidewalk. Pedestrians walking on the sidewalk at that moment escaped being buried under the snow by a matter of seconds. The moments were recorded by the security cameras of a nearby business.

In the security camera footage, some people walking on the street can be seen panicking and running back as the snow mass rapidly hits the ground. While there were no injuries or loss of life in the incident, a major disaster was averted thanks to the reflexes of those walking on the street.

Authorities pointed out that snow masses accumulated on roofs after heavy snowfall can pose a danger, stating that building owners must take the necessary precautions in this regard.

City residents expressed that more measures should be taken to prevent similar incidents from occurring.
