Tension between Ersan Şen and İsmail Saymaz: Live broadcast interrupted
A heated argument broke out during a program aired on Sözcü TV. Ersan Şen caused tension by saying, "Can you talk for an hour, man?" while İsmail Saymaz was speaking. The host abruptly cut to a commercial break.
Sözcü TV's program Sokağın Sözü featured Sözcü columnist and journalist İsmail Saymaz and legal expert Ersan Şen as guests today. After a while, tension arose between Saymaz and Şen during the program.
Ersan Şen said on the program, "Are you going to give me the floor, or should I leave the broadcast? You've been talking for an hour, İsmail. For a full hour. Anyway, go ahead and talk, I don't care."
"CAN YOU TALK FOR AN HOUR, MAN!"
Upon this, the program's host Serap Belovacıklı and Saymaz replied to Şen, "Professor, we gave you time, you didn't want it." Şen retorted to Saymaz, "Fine, but İsmail, finish it in three minutes, brother. Can you talk for an hour, man! Have some mercy!"
Following this, Saymaz reacted to Şen, saying, "Professor, I am asking you, do not speak to me like that again. I have respect for your age and your title. If you speak to me like that again, I will change my tone. I will be uncivil. If you continue this disrespect, you will receive a harsh response from me."
BROADCAST INTERRUPTED
As Şen kept interrupting while Saymaz was speaking, the program's host Serap Belovacıklı said, "Let's go to a break. We will continue after the break," and interrupted the broadcast.
