Woman shot by her ex-husband loses her life

In the Güzelyurt neighborhood of Nevşehir, an argument broke out between 26-year-old Emre Y. and his ex-wife, S.N.Ş. As the argument escalated into a fight, Emre Y. opened fire on his ex-wife, S.N.Ş., with a handgun.

The wounded woman took refuge in a business on the street. Upon reports from bystanders, police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene.

The woman, who received initial treatment at the scene, was taken to Nevşehir State Hospital but could not be saved despite all interventions.

Following the incident, the suspect, Emre Y., surrendered to the police after a short time. An investigation into the incident has been launched.

The moments when S.N.Ş. ran while wounded to take refuge in a business and the intervention of the medical teams were captured on security cameras.

Neva Yanağlıbaş, one of the citizens present at the business, said, "We heard cries for help and took the woman inside. There was a hole in her coat, and she collapsed to the ground as soon as she entered."

Mehmet Karataş stated that after hearing the gunshot, he saw the woman run inside, and when they realized she was wounded, they immediately called 112.
