Were citizens' personal data stolen? The reporter whom Soylu called 'my dear' asks a question that angered Uraloğlu

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu made statements to journalists following the Universal Postal Union Regional Strategy Forum.

A journalist reminded Uraloğlu of the reports claiming that 'personal data had been leaked'.

Angered by the journalist's question, Uraloğlu stated that he had made no such statements.

"NO SUCH THEFT EVENT HAS OCCURRED"

"Currently, the theft of data is not on Turkey's agenda," said Minister Uraloğlu, adding, "Because no such theft event has occurred. There was only information that was discussed in the past, that was it. Turkey currently has no agenda regarding the theft of personal data, and no such event has taken place. That issue was discussed within its own context at the time and was closed. It is not on Turkey's agenda right now. I am saying this very clearly. Let no one stir things up. No one should take a statement out of context and report it as if there are current incidents where people's security and data have been stolen in Turkey."

"WE HAVE MADE NO SUCH STATEMENT"

Continuing his remarks, Minister Uraloğlu stated that his previous comments had been taken out of context, saying, "There is no such agenda right now. Any news made in this way by taking things out of context and adding commentary before and after has no value in our eyes. We have made no such statement. It is never right to bring up a topic that was discussed and debated internally in the past years later and present it as if it were a current issue. There is no need to say anything else regarding this," he said.

SOYLU HAD PATTED HIS CHEEK SAYING 'MY DEAR'

The journalist who asked the question to Uraloğlu had previously made headlines with Süleyman Soylu.

When FOX TV Ankara reporter Fırat Irmak wanted to ask about the 'foreigners at home' claim, Soylu had patted Irmak's chin. Saying "My dear," Soylu did not respond to the question.
