Young woman dies by suicide at Marmaray station

The incident occurred at the Ayrılık Çeşmesi Marmaray station in the Kadıköy district at approximately 19:00. According to reports, an individual suddenly threw themselves onto the tracks for reasons yet unknown.

The woman, who was struck by the train passing through at that moment, died tragically.

Upon notification, police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene.

Following the investigation, the body was transported to the Forensic Medicine Institute morgue.

Due to the incident, Marmaray services were suspended for approximately 1 hour.

MARMARAY SERVICES RETURNED TO NORMAL

Following the work conducted by crime scene investigation teams, Marmaray made a statement regarding the services that had been halted for a period, via its social media account on 'X'.

The statement said, "As of 20:00, our trains have begun operating on both lines, and our services have returned to normal."
