Yüksel Arslan rejoins İYİ Party: 'We cannot remain neutral against those who want to grant the right to hope to separatists'
Yüksel Arslan, who resigned some time ago and continued his political career as an independent MP, has rejoined the İYİ Party. With Arslan's participation, the number of seats held by the İYİ Party in Parliament has reached 29.
Independent Ankara MP Yüksel Arslan rejoined the İYİ Party at the İYİ Party Group Meeting.
Arslan was elected as an Ankara MP from the İYİ Party in the 2023 general elections and had resigned following the decision of the then-İYİ Party Chair Meral Akşener to enter the 2024 elections independently.
'HAS RETURNED TO HIS HOME'
İYİ Party leader Dervişoğlu invited Arslan to the podium, saying, "My brother, my comrade has returned to his home."
With Arslan's participation, the number of İYİ Party MPs has risen to 29.
'TODAY IS NOT THE DAY TO REMAIN NEUTRAL'
Invited to the podium by Müsavat Dervişoğlu, Yüksel Arslan said the following:
"Those whose hearts beat for the same goals are always together. Today, under the leadership of our esteemed chairman, I am among you again in the ranks of the İYİ Party. I am delighted to be among you again, to walk arm in arm and shoulder to shoulder with you. Today is not the day to remain neutral. When independence and the future are at stake, we are always on the side of the Turkish state. However, we cannot remain neutral against those who want to grant the right to hope to the baby killer, the separatist, and the traitor, and we never have. Today, there are those in our country who dream of a multi-lingual, multi-cultural state. The meaning of this is the division of our state. Unfortunately, we have reached a stage where the terrorist leader is referred to as a founding leader. The İYİ Party represents the foundation of the national conscience that calls a terrorist a terrorist."
