Zafer Party's Bartu Soral: 'Turkey's partition process has been initiated under the pretext of the PKK laying down arms'

The long-awaited statement has arrived following the new resolution process that began after MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli's call to Abdullah Öcalan. The terrorist organization PKK announced that it had decided to dissolve and lay down its arms following its congress held in recent days. 

The emphasis on the Treaty of Lausanne and the 1924 Constitution in the statement sparked reactions. Evaluating the statement for 12punto, Zafer Party Deputy Chairman for Economy and Development Bartu Soral stated, "Today, when we consider the detail of Lausanne beneath the PKK's decision to dissolve itself, we see that Turkey, as the President himself has said, is acting as a co-chair within the scope of the 'Greater Middle East Project' and has initiated the process of Turkey's partition." 

Soral said the following: 

'IT WILL ENSURE THE SURVIVAL OF THE KURDISTAN THEY WANT TO ESTABLISH'

"The PKK had already transferred its armed power to the YPG. So much so that after Northern Iraq, the second region of the Kurdistan planned to be established in northern Syria was also prepared in terms of cantons. The reason for dividing Syria was also the goal of establishing a so-called Kurdistan that would ensure Israel's security within the scope of the Greater Middle East Project. Now they have divided Syria. The YPG has gained an autonomous region like Northern Iraq. The PKK thus transferred its power to the YPG. Today, when we consider the detail of Lausanne beneath the PKK's decision to dissolve itself, we see that Turkey, as the President himself has said, is acting as a co-chair within the scope of the 'Greater Middle East Project' and has initiated the process of Turkey's partition. Because in this statement, rather than just laying down arms, they are declaring that the unitary structure determined by the 1924 Constitution will now be divided and that they will also possess the third region, which will cover the east and southeast of Turkey, and specifically the Euphrates and Tigris basins that will ensure the survival of the Kurdistan they want to establish. Behind this declaration are Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Devlet Bahçeli. They are announcing this process, that is, the process of Turkey's partition, under the pretext of the PKK laying down arms. They are committing a constitutional crime. If the Turkish nation decides to take its future into its own hands tomorrow, they will be tried for high treason before the Supreme Court. This is very clear."

'IF WE DO NOT PROTECT IT...'

"The PKK has also declared that if we do not protect the republic founded by Atatürk, this republic will be divided. There is a statement that Kurds were denied by the 1924 Constitution and the Treaty of Lausanne. However, the republic, as defined by Atatürk, established a nation-state with a unitary structure by founding the Republic of Turkey. In this, both Kurds and Turks are primary constituent elements, and everyone is equal before the constitution. That is, anyone who wishes can become a member of parliament or a minister. No one asks anyone about their sub-identity. When we look at the statement made by the PKK, it is expressed as if those identities were denied, as if they were not treated equally as citizens of the Republic of Turkey. This is not true."

'POLITICS HAS ENTIRELY JOINED THE GMEP'

Chief Advisor to the President Mehmet Uçum stated, "Next is the new constitution," immediately after the PKK's statement. Soral said the following regarding Uçum's remarks: 

"Regarding the 'New Constitution,' you remember that the table established as the 'Table of Six' also made a statement saying, 'We are basing it on the 1921 Constitution, not the 1924 one.' This is what scares me the most. That is, we have already seen and highlighted that the AKP and MHP have the goal of dismantling the unitary structure and the nation-state through a 'new constitution' and are committing high treason. What is truly frightening is that the Table of Six, formed under the leadership of the main opposition party, is also involved in a similar constitutional process and is referencing the 1921 Constitution, not the 1924 one, just as the PKK did in its statement today. This shows us that politics as a whole has joined the Greater Middle East Project."
