Action plan for public savings ready: Highway projects suspended

In Turkey, which is struggling with economic difficulties, a new series of public austerity measures is being implemented to improve the "benefit/burden" balance for citizens. These regulations, which will come into effect with a Presidential Decree, aim to significantly restrict public spending and thereby support economic stability.

These regulations, which will come into effect with a Presidential Decree, aim to significantly restrict public spending and thereby support economic stability.

According to information in Habertürk; public investments and expenditures are being reorganized through meticulous work. Priority will be given to projects such as agriculture, irrigation, and dams that directly affect the country's economy and will increase production and citizen welfare.

Non-urgent projects such as bridges, highways, and viaducts will be postponed or canceled. These steps will ensure that public resources are used more effectively and that funds are allocated for social projects.

UBER-LIKE SYSTEM

Major restrictions are being introduced on the use of official vehicles and other service vehicles. Except for legally mandatory allocations, the use of official vehicles will be restricted, and priority will be given to the purchase of domestic vehicles.

In addition, an Uber-like vehicle pool system will be established to make the use of public vehicles more transparent and economical. This regulation aims to reduce fuel expenses and prevent the unauthorized use of vehicles.

ARE ADDITIONAL PAYMENTS BEING ABOLISHED?

High public salaries that hurt the public conscience and draw reactions from the public will be ended. Additional payments outside of board of directors allowances and legal salaries will be abolished.

It will be ensured that salaries appropriate to the nature of the duty are paid in state-owned enterprises and public subsidiaries. With these measures, a significant reduction in public expenditures and a fairer wage system are targeted.

Expenditures such as the construction of new public service buildings, the liquidation of buildings with high rents, and domestic and international assignments will also be largely restricted.

It is anticipated that significant savings in public spending will be achieved through these activities, which will only be carried out in urgent cases.

FIGHT AGAINST EXORBITANT PRICES

In order to ensure economic stability, the fight against exorbitant price increases is also being intensified.

With a legislative proposal submitted to the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM), the lower and upper limits of fines for those who apply exorbitant prices will be increased. With this step, efforts will be made to ensure price stability and combat inflation.

These wide-ranging reforms aim to increase sustainability in public finance, protect economic balances, and improve the quality of life of citizens.
