AKP prepares bill on crypto assets

AKP Deputy Chairman in charge of Information and Communication Technologies, Ömer İleri, stated that they held a meeting today at the party headquarters with representatives operating in the crypto asset sector. İleri said they listened to the suggestions of the sector representatives and took their questions.

Regarding the bill on crypto assets, İleri said:

"We find it very important to carry out a legal study regarding the crypto asset sector. We find it very meaningful for the sector to have a legal basis. This legal regulation is primarily a study to regulate platforms, but beyond that, it will be a regulation that will protect our citizens and our investors. We believe it is a very important study in terms of both making these processes safer and paving the way for innovation. Our meeting today was truly very useful in this sense. We listened to our sector representatives and took their ideas. We will continue this process in this way and conclude it soon."

Making statements regarding the demands of the sector representatives, İleri said, "Sector representatives conveyed their ideas in terms of making an assessment of the situation. Regarding the draft, they expressed the issues they think should be included in the draft. Frankly, we saw here that we all have similar thoughts in this process. Our goal is to secure the citizen, protect the investor, and regulate the platforms in this sense, but to put forward such a bill that it also paves the way for innovation and innovators."
