The legislative proposal prepared by AKP deputies regarding working life and energy sectors is expected to be submitted to the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) in the coming days. One of the most notable regulations in the proposal concerns general health insurance debts.
Within the scope of the proposal, which is planned to consist of 11 articles, it is envisioned that the collection of all unpaid general health insurance (GSS) premiums dating back to before January 1, 2017, as well as secondary receivables such as late payment penalties and late interest charges associated with these debts, will be waived.
The proposal, prepared under the chairmanship of AKP Group Chairman Abdullah Güler, will also include certain regulations in line with the annulment decisions of the Constitutional Court.
Under another heading regarding working life, it is planned to extend the incentive period for supporting additional employment and for the employment of women, youth, and unemployed individuals holding vocational and technical training certificates until December 31, 2027. The proposal will also include granting the President the authority to extend this period until December 31, 2028.
Regarding the energy sector, a regulation will be introduced allowing floating LNG facilities to leave the locations specified in their licenses to serve in other regions. Accordingly, the permit may be granted by the Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK) upon receiving the opinion of the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources within the framework of supply security principles.
