Borsa Istanbul draws attention with gains in the first half of the day
The BIST 100 index at Borsa Istanbul rose by 0.79 percent in the first part of the day, reaching 14,442.03 points.
Stocks traded on Borsa Istanbul made a positive start to the third trading day of the week. In the first half of the day, as of 13:00, the BIST 100 index rose by 112.68 points compared to the previous close, reaching the 14,442.03 level. With this rise, the total trading volume reached 89.2 billion liras.
The banking index gained 0.18 percent, while the holding index gained 0.21 percent. On a sectoral basis, the metal main industry group was the top gainer with 2.12 percent, while the sector that declined the most was forestry, paper, and printing, which saw a 1.57 percent drop.
Global markets generally maintain a positive trend despite the slowing negotiation processes in the Middle East, ahead of the earnings reports of major technology companies and the US Federal Reserve's interest rate decision. In the domestic market, the unemployment rate in Turkey for March decreased by 0.3 points compared to the previous month, falling to 8.1 percent.
Experts stated that for the remainder of the day, investors will closely monitor global data flows, primarily developments in the Middle East, as well as inflation data to be announced in Germany and the US Federal Reserve's interest rate decision.
In technical analysis, the 14,500 and 14,600 point levels stand out as resistance for the BIST 100 index, while 14,300 and 14,200 points are highlighted as support levels.
