Distrust in TUIK at its peak: 84% of the public does not believe it!

According to a survey conducted by the CHP, 84 percent of the public does not believe the data released by TUIK. All DEM voters and the vast majority of IYI Party voters believe that inflation is higher than reported. While only 19.8 percent of AKP voters trust TUIK, 73 percent of MHP supporters state that inflation is above the official figures.

Distrust in TUIK at its peak: 84% of the public does not believe it!

Public opinion research conducted by the CHP has highlighted the lack of trust in the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). 84 percent of those who participated in the survey carried out by the party stated that they do not believe the data released by TUIK.

According to a report in the Sözcü newspaper, participants in the survey were asked about the inflation rates they perceive. Accordingly, 54.5 percent responded that it is "far, far above what is announced," while 29.5 percent said it is "above what is announced." The proportion of those who think that inflation aligns with the announced rates remained at 11.5 percent.

In the assessment made according to voter preferences, all DEM voters and 88.2 percent of those who vote for the IYI Party stated that TUIK's inflation data does not reflect the truth.

While the rate of those who trust the figures announced by TUIK among AKP voters remained at 19.8 percent, 73 percent of MHP voters expressed that they believe inflation is higher than the official data.
