NOVEMBER INFLATION RATE ANNOUNCED!

Civil servants and retirees, who receive salary increases in January and July, will receive raises based on 6-month inflation rates.

The 5th data point for the 6-month period has been announced by TÜİK:

According to the data from the Turkish Statistical Institute, inflation in November was 2.24 percent on a monthly basis, while it fell to 47.09 percent on an annual basis.

WHAT IS THE 5-MONTH CIVIL SERVANT RAISE PERCENTAGE?

Following the announced inflation data, the 5-month retiree raise emerged as 14.57 percent.

For civil servants and retired civil servants, the rate is 10.40 percent.

HOW MUCH WILL THE 6-MONTH INFLATION DIFFERENCE BE?

According to the announced monthly CPI data, the 4-month inflation difference was 12.06 percent. If the November rate of 2.01 percent and the December rate of 1.67 percent, as included in the Central Bank's Market Participants Survey, are realized, the six-month inflation will be 16.22 percent.

HOW IS THE CIVIL SERVANT RAISE CALCULATED?

Civil servants receive raises twice a year, every 6 months. When calculating the civil servant raise, the collective bargaining agreement raise is added to the inflation difference. Here, the inflation difference refers to the 6-month inflation exceeding the collective bargaining agreement raise granted in the previous period.

HOW MUCH WILL THE LOWEST CIVIL SERVANT SALARY RAISE BE?

In July, the lowest civil servant salary was implemented at 39 thousand 177 liras. If a 12 percent raise is applied to salaries in January 2025, the lowest civil servant salary will be 43 thousand 878 liras.

According to this raise calculation, the lowest retired civil servant salary will rise to 19 thousand 697 liras.
