CHP Erzincan Deputy Mustafa Sarıgül announced that his party demands the minimum wage be set at 30 thousand liras.
Speaking at a press conference held at the Parliament, Sarıgül drew attention to the importance of the ongoing budget negotiations in the General Assembly.
Stating that the budget is an important tool for understanding a country's priorities and who it serves, Sarıgül said, "This budget is not for those crushed under the cost of living, but for the wealthy segments. Those who have been governing the country for 22 years have no right left to ask for patience."
Reminding that the minimum wage determination process has begun, Sarıgül emphasized that the purchasing power of employees must be protected, stating, "The minimum wage needs to be updated every three months.
Furthermore, the minimum wage becoming a standard wage must absolutely be prevented," he said.
