When will the minimum wage be announced? Response on figures from TÜRK-İŞ

Hours remain until the third meeting for the 2025 minimum wage hike. The commission will hold its third meeting today at 11:30 AM, chaired by Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan. The TÜRK-İŞ Presidential Board met ahead of the third minimum wage meeting. The Presidential Board meeting began at 09:00 AM.

WILL TÜRK-İŞ PROVIDE A FIGURE FOR THE MINIMUM WAGE?

Making a statement before the meeting, Ağar said that after receiving opinions at the presidential board, they would discuss the minimum wage at the ministry.

In response to the question, "What happens if no figure is provided?" Ağar said, "We will talk about it accordingly. We will not announce a figure."

It is expected that the figure to be requested in the minimum wage negotiations will be finalized at the meeting to be held under the chairmanship of TÜRK-İŞ President Ergün Atalay.

Opinions will be gathered from the unions affiliated with the confederation regarding the minimum wage. If an agreement cannot be reached in the minimum wage negotiations, the roadmap the confederation will follow will be determined.

MINISTER IŞIKHAN GAVE A DATE FOR THE MINIMUM WAGE

Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan, who will chair the third meeting of the commission, had stated, "We are now expecting a proposal from our worker and employer segments."

Işıkhan said, "Hopefully, after receiving this proposal, we will meet with our presidents again, and we are planning to conclude it within the coming week."

WHEN WILL THE MINIMUM WAGE BE ANNOUNCED?

The new minimum wage is expected to be determined and shared with the public between December 23 and 27.

The net and gross figures that will emerge according to the hike rates for the minimum wage are as follows:

20,402 liras with a 20 percent hike

21,252 liras with a 25 percent hike

22,102 liras with a 30 percent hike

22,952 liras with a 35 percent hike

23,802 liras with a 40 percent hike
